From an Early Passion to a Nationwide Vision
Her career in construction started earlier than most. At just 14, Lynsey spent her summers working for her stepfather’s construction company, where she quickly learned what it takes to keep projects moving, solve problems in real time, and meet a deadline. That early experience sparked an interest in the industry that ultimately led her to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Akron.
Before founding Permit Solutions, Lynsey spent eight years as a civil engineer and project coordinator for an architectural and engineering firm, managing retail, commercial, and site development projects from pre-design through construction. Along the way, she developed strong relationships with municipalities and agencies across the country — and began recognizing an opportunity to bridge the gap between design, development, jurisdictions, and the permitting process.
In 2014, Lynsey turned that idea into Permit Solutions.
What started with a vision to do things differently has grown into an 18-person team supporting clients nationwide with due diligence, entitlements, permitting, and development coordination. Lynsey’s approach has always been rooted in relationships, communication, and finding solutions — helping clients understand the path forward early, anticipate challenges, and keep projects moving from concept to approval.
Leading With Purpose
Today, Lynsey spends much of her time doing what she loves most: dreaming big, building relationships, creating opportunities, and cheering on the team around her. She leads with equal parts strategy, heart, energy, and humor — usually with a coffee nearby and more than a few new ideas in the works.
Beyond the Business
Outside of Permit Solutions, Lynsey is happiest spending time with her family, chasing after her kids, traveling, or sneaking in a quiet moment with a good book. She believes there’s plenty of room for ambition and joy — and that the best work happens when great people come together, care about what they do, and have a little fun along the way.
